Hello and welcome to our humble site. Here you'll find much stuff about Painkiller - the golden-oldie mindless FPS masterpiece forged by polish devs People Can Fly back in the now-distant 2004. For the unenlightened, here's the briefest possible history on the PK "franchise":
Now I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume you already see the three tabs above - yes, well, that's mostly what this site is about. But let me break it down for you anyway, after all this is the index page, and how else am i gonna fill it with writing all the way to the bottom.
*cough* So anyway.. If you've beaten even one level in any of the games you probably know that sprinkled around most levels are numerous secret areas, containing loot, health, ammo and occasionally something else. Finding all of them has been a staple of PK players ever since the game was released, as many of them require skill and cunning. Eventually every single one of them was discovered of course, and since then people have begun to look for other ways to get them (some secrets can now be reached in even more than 5 ways!). So there's a section dedicated specifically to them. There are videos for each one, showing one of the possible methods (usually one of the easier ones) for getting it. Though some have two (as will be indicated by a link below the video).
Shortcuts are a little different. While secret-hunting is a perfectly enjoyable activity in Painkiller, some time ago players discovered that in certain levels, certain areas can be entirelly skipped. That gave rise to another enjoyable activity, namely shortcutting. Players have explored levels inside-out and found many ways to skip sections and battles. Sometimes shortcuts are used for speedruns, sometimes one can take a shortcut simply because they don't like a particular part of some level (the big battle on Snowy Bridge's.. um.. bridge is a prominent example). The Shortcuts section contains videos detailing where and how they can be achieved.
The Misc section is the place for everything else. Currently that means articles and downloads. Check it out, it has information about the Black Tarot, difficulties, easter eggs and more.
Now a little behind-the-scenes about the site and how it came to be. Back in the scorching summer of 2009, a couple of guys from southeastern Europe came together and decided they wanted to create an all-encompassing website about Painkiller. Deep, no? That would be me and a buddy of mine. We sat down and recorded some 200 videos in about a month, which cost us several dozen litres of coffee, a couple hundred packs of smokes and a little of our sanity. It took another month to build the site, which is generally maintained by yours truly.
About myself, well, i'm just a guy. Usually regarded as "the weird guy". Among other things. As for the normal introduction-stuff - i'm 20, been dabbling in video games and "teh interwebz" since i can think i guess, like most people my age. I have a penchant for sandbox games (right now Mass Effect holds my heart), overly-serious TV and games (The Shield, House, 24, Odyssey 5 (man don't get me started on this one, it's my favorite series ever and it's cancellation is a crime against all sci-fi-loving peoples), Mass Effect of course, since it's drama value is probably the thing i like most about it, that sort of things), science (certain flavors of physics mainly, as well as psychology), weapons of mass destruction (had to throw that in somewhere), metal (i'm just gonna say many kinds), etc.. I'm not sure hom much information is appropriate for the index page of a Painkiller website so i'll stop here. Heh, i wonder why you're reading this at all. Maybe you should eyeball my email below?
Since then i have done my best to add stuff now and then. That usually has to pass through my "real life" and "attention-deficit" filters first, but i try. If you see something on the site that shouldn't be like that don't hesitate to drop me a line. At maledicted @ GMail. I also accept criticism, suggestions, bitching and all else. I hope you find what you're looking for here and thanks for visiting.
And of course big thanks to everyone who's helped. You guys know who you are.
